A SEPTUAGENARIAN IS ATTACKED AND BEATENED TO DEATH IN FRONT OF HIS HOME BY THREE MINORS
Philippe Mathot, 72, was a figure in Vieux-Condé, a small town of 10,000 inhabitants where she was a florist for a long time. He was savagely attacked and beaten by three timers who attacked him on the grounds that he dared to ask them to make less noise in front of his home. This was fatal to him, with brain death following injuries! This act of great savagery shocked the inhabitants of this village in the North of France, quiet and frightened by this ultraviolet light a la "Clockwork Orange" from three teenagers, attacking an elderly and vulnerable person.
His death was announced Tuesday morning by the mayor of the town, David Bustin, via a Facebook message. “Philippe left us last night. Today is a time for mourning and contemplation,” he wrote, announcing the opening of a book of condolences for residents “in shock.”

Following this attack, a few days earlier in front of his home, the septuagenarian thus succumbed to his injuries in Vieux-Condé, in the North. He was beaten up by young people whom he had asked to keep quiet. "Act of barbarism", "abominable lynching", "nameless cowardice": his death on Tuesday sparked outrage across the political spectrum.
"This tragedy will not go unpunished," Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin promised on Twitter on Tuesday evening, referring to "an attack of untold cowardice". The PCF deputy for the constituency, Fabien Roussel, denounced "an act of barbarism" and called on justice to show "extreme severity". “We cannot let such horror pass,” he added.

An investigation was short by the Valenciennes public prosecutor's office, which must determine whether minors will be reclassified as adult acts, from 17 to 18 years old, (because in France crimes committed by minors are halved in the penalty of imprisonment and often get away with very few legal sanctions./ Some neighbors of the victim interviewed by journalists replied that they want a firm sanction for this barbaric act and believe that the law in France is too lax vis-à-vis saw the attackers, with serious acts despite their young age.
